Mary Catherine Ozcelik DMD
Since graduating from dental school at the University of Montreal in 2012, Dr. Mary Catherine Ozcelik has lived a rather unique journey. She worked in the Montreal metropolitan area, in Northwestern Quebec and completed a graduate diploma in business management at McGill before returning to academia and completing a multidisciplinary 1 year GPR residency program at Stony Brook University- SUNY (USA). Subsequently, she practiced for two years in a private office in several areas of Montreal. During these years, she was also an attending at the University of Montreal in the restoration/operative dentistry department. In 2019, following a burnout, she returned to practice by accepting mini replacement contracts, which led her to work in a penitentiary, in several indigenous communities (Wemotaci, Pessamit, Nunavik, Mistissini) with the Innu, Inuit and Cree to then end up in Fermont on the North Shore of Quebec. She then had the opportunity to work as a public health counsel dentist for the North Shore during the year of November 2020-202. Following this, she went back to practicing chairside dentistry in the remote region of the Lower North Shore of Quebec. She now is working with Statistics Canada on the Canadian Health Measures Survey. She is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Association des Chirurgiens Dentistes du Québec, The Academy of General Dentistry and The Academy of Richard V. Tucker Study Clubs.
